Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4 8 12 or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program you must:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship Permanent residency or a valid work permit.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution and participating in an official internship program
- Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

This role is designed as a 1216-month internship (full-time) to give you the chance to gain greater skills and exposure to the business. The internship will begin in May 2027 and may be extended to align with your academic program.
This intern role offers hands-on experience in software development and quality assurance supporting the team through coding tasks executing test scripts and participating in QA activities. The position provides exposure to the entire development cycle enabling the delivery of high-quality software in a professional environment.
This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary Alberta.
The team collaborates closely with Analytics & Operational groups to deliver critical business solutions in a fast-paced supportive environment.
Youll work in a collaborative and technology-focused environment alongside Software Developers and business stakeholders to support the delivery of critical business applications and solutions. The role provides hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle including coding testing debugging DevOps support and quality assurance activities. Success in this environment requires curiosity problem-solving skills attention to detail and a willingness to learn while working on both individual assignments and team-based projects.
- Quality Assurance Support: Assist in identifying software issues through testing and debugging ensuring high standards of functionality and usability in each project phase. Collaborate with QA team members to execute test cases document findings and contribute to the improvement of overall software quality.
- DevOps Administration: Support the setup configuration and maintenance of development and deployment environments. Assist in automation and monitoring tasks to enhance the efficiency and reliability of software deployment pipelines.
- Code Review Participation: Actively participate in code reviews offering constructive feedback and adhering to best practices in code quality and readability. Gain valuable insights from senior developers to improve personal coding standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Test Script Creation and Execution: Develop execute and maintain test scripts for various software applications working closely with developers to ensure features meet requirements. Document test results and communicate any issues found contributing to a thorough and reliable testing process.
- Full Stack Development: Support the team with entry-level development tasks including frontend and backend coding and bug fixes gaining hands-on experience across the full tech stack.
- Education & Eligibility: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Technical Skills: Foundational knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript; exposure to and full-stack development is an asset. Familiarity with testing frameworks/tools (e.g. Jest Playwright) and database management is beneficial.
- Experience: Coursework personal projects or prior co-op experience in software development or QA considered an asset. Understanding of software development best practices and debugging is beneficial.
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of the Canadian Energy Industry is an asset.
