Senior Staff Accountant – Assurance

Hennessy Collective is partnering with an established Ottawa public accounting firm to add an experienced Senior Staff Accountant Assurance to its growing team.

Youll take ownership of review and audit engagements work directly with clients and have exposure to a broader mix of accounting tax and advisory work. • Lead review and audit engagements from planning through completion
• Prepare compilation engagements and corporate tax returns
• Coordinate client information and keep engagements moving efficiently
• Work closely with managers and partners throughout engagements
• Identify accounting tax and process improvement opportunities for clients
• Prepare accurate organized working paper files in accordance with professional standards
• Support engagement planning workflow and deadline management
• Contribute to internal process improvements and broader firm initiatives
• Continue developing your technical expertise across accounting assurance and taxation

• CPA designation with membership in good standing with CPA Ontario required
• Minimum 3 years of recent public accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with review and audit engagements
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and auditing standards
• Working knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax
• Experience with CaseWare CCH TaxPrep QuickBooks and/or Sage 50
• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Leadership potential and an interest in continuing to grow within the firm

• $75000$90000 salary
