Ontario Health is seeking a strategic and collaborative Senior Program Manager to lead high-impact privacy program initiatives that support the organizations mandate to connect modernize and improve health care across this role you will provide privacy leadership on complex enterprise-wide initiatives translate strategy into practical operating plans and help strengthen how privacy enables care innovation and public trust.
This is an opportunity for an experienced privacy leader who thrives at the intersection of policy digital health data stakeholder engagement and change leadership. You will work across Ontario Health portfolios and with key external partnersincluding the Ministry of Health and the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontarioto influence decisions build strong relationships and deliver meaningful program outcomes.
Reporting through the Privacy Office the Senior Program Manager will help advance a mature responsive and trusted privacy program by:
Equipping teams with the guidance tools and support needed to operationalize privacy obligations strategies and program initiatives.
Helping stakeholders understand the value of privacy as an enabler of care digital transformation and responsible business delivery.
Connecting privacy program work to Ontario Healths broader organizational priorities and public sector mandate.
Building engaged informed and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
Here is what you will be doing:
Key responsibilities
Lead the renewal execution and continuous improvement of Ontario Healths privacy program ensuring alignment with program obligations operating models and organizational priorities.
Provide subject matter expertise on privacy legislation regulatory requirements information systems data standards and emerging privacy expectations affecting Ontario Healths mandate.
Advise on privacy requirements for digital products services data initiatives and corporate projects embedding privacy-by-design principles into practical delivery approaches.
Lead change management activities with multidisciplinary teams across clinical programs data and analytics digital services and corporate portfolios.
Support the Privacy Office operating plan including internal projects that optimize practices strengthen service delivery and improve program effectiveness.
Prepare and deliver clear briefings and advice for senior leaders executives the Board funders government partners and external stakeholders including the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Develop performance evaluation approaches and monitor outcomes to ensure the privacy program delivers measurable value and continuous improvement.
Provide leadership coaching and thought partnership to colleagues and stakeholders helping teams work toward common goals and apply privacy program requirements with confidence.
Make sound recommendations and decisions with senior leadership support where required on issues with broad organizational impact that require sophisticated sustainable solutions.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Health Studies Public Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
Certification in privacy such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) project management or a related professional designation is considered an asset.
Experience in the health care or public service sectors including established stakeholder relationships is considered an asset.
710 years of related experience with progressively increasing scope complexity accountability and decision-making responsibility.
Knowledge and Skills
Exceptional leadership interpersonal and team-building skills with the ability to motivate teams drive results and support high-impact initiatives.
Strong communication influencing and knowledge translation skills with the ability to explain complex or sensitive information to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated relationship-building consensus-building and emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate competing stakeholder interests and crucial conversations.
Sound judgment discretion and professionalism when handling confidential sensitive or high-pressure matters.
Proven ability to manage contracts competing priorities and multiple projects concurrently.
Flexible adaptable and able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Delivery-focused and accountable with a strong commitment to achieving program objectives.
Political acuity and the ability to work effectively with government partners.
Ability to make decisions with significant organizational impact.
