Position Summary
WWP Architects Planners Inc. is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of the public realm for the Hamilton LRT while supporting a growing portfolio of streetscape transit public realm parks and city-building projects across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and beyond.
Our work includes some of the regions most significant public infrastructure and urban design initiatives including the Ontario Line Hamilton LRT Hurontario LRT North Maple Regional Park Family Recreation Area (currently under construction) 11 Brock Transitional Housing (currently under construction) Weston Loop Master Plan Durham Meadoway Visioning Study The Beltline Yards Public Realm Design Reconfiguration of the Six Points Interchange Shoppers World Brampton Master Plan Eglinton Connects Planning Urban Design Study Golden Mile Secondary Plan Study Golden Mile EA Neighbourhood Character Design Guidelines for the City of Toronto and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Urban Design Guidelines.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work within our interdisciplinary team of landscape architects urban designers planners and architects to lead the design and delivery of complex public realm and landscape architecture projects for both public and private sector clients.
- Responsible for managing multidisciplinary project teams leading design development and overseeing project delivery from concept through construction. Projects will range from streetscapes transit corridors complete streets civic spaces parks and integrated site design to large-scale public infrastructure and city-building initiatives.
- Lead the preparation and review of design drawings specifications technical reports and contract documents.
- Support construction administration and respond to contractor inquiries during implementation.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff while contributing to the growth of the landscape architecture practice.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients municipalities transit agencies and project partners.
- A significant portion of this role will initially focus on the Hamilton LRT delivering streetscape and public realm improvements for one of Ontarios most transformative transit projects. Over time the successful candidate will also contribute to other transit infrastructure and public realm projects across the practice.
- This position is expected to work approximately 3 to 5 days per week from the project teams Hamilton office with flexibility based on project needs.
Qualifications :
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience in landscape architecture with demonstrated leadership on complex public realm and infrastructure projects.
- Registered Landscape Architect and full member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) or eligible for registration.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing landscape architecture projects from concept through detailed design construction documentation and contract administration.
- Strong project management organizational communication and client relationship skills with experience mentoring and supervising technical staff.
- Demonstrated expertise in the planning design and implementation of public realm and landscape architecture projects including:
- Streetscapes and complete streets;
- Transit corridors and transit-oriented public realm;
- Urban parks plazas and civic spaces;
- Green infrastructure and sustainable landscape design;
- Integration of landscape architecture with transportation utilities drainage and municipal infrastructure;
- Public realm design within complex urban environments.
- Strong technical design experience including grading site servicing coordination construction detailing planting design material selection accessibility and coordination with multidisciplinary consultants.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing contract documents technical specifications and construction packages for public infrastructure projects.
- Experience coordinating with engineers architects planners municipalities transit agencies contractors and utility providers throughout project delivery.
- Working knowledge of applicable municipal standards the Ontario Building Code AODA and relevant accessibility and public realm design guidelines.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Experience with Rhino Revit Civil 3D BIM workflows and AI-assisted design tools is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated portfolio of successfully completed and constructed public realm streetscape transit or landscape architecture projects.

The salary range for this role is $85000 to $100000 commensurate based on experience.
