Senior Java Developer (Capital Market)

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office (Downtown) at a minimum 4 days per week subject to change at any time.


We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with 5 years of experience in Java Spring Boot Microservices Cloud and DevOps technologies. The role involves designing developing deploying and supporting scalable cloud native applications API services integration platforms and rules-based processing engines within an enterprise environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities.

Design develop and support Java/Spring Boot microservices.
.Build and maintain REST APIs and event driven services.
.Develop XML/JSON transformation and integration solutions.
.Design and implement configurable business rules and processing engines.
.Deploy and support cloud native applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
.Participate in architecture design code reviews testing and production support.
.Collaborate with business stakeholders architects QA and DevOps teams.
.Contribute to application scalability resiliency security and observability.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Skills & Experience
.5 years of hands-on Java development experience.
.Strong experience with:
oJava 8 Spring Boot Spring Framework
oREST APIs and Microservices Architecture
oOracle SQL Server PostgreSQL or MongoDB
oObject Oriented Design Design Patterns Data Structures & Algorithms
oXML JSON XSD and API integrations
oKafka or other messaging/event streaming platforms
oGit JIRA TeamCity Azure DevOps or similar tools

Cloud & DevOps Skills.
Hands on experience with:
oDocker containerization
oKubernetes orchestration (AKS/EKS/OpenShift preferred)
oCI/CD pipeline design and implementation
oAzure DevOps GitHub Actions Jenkins or similar tools
oLinux administration and Shell scripting
oInfrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible Helm preferred)
oCloud platforms (Azure AWS or GCP).

Experience troubleshooting and supporting applications in cloud and Kubernetes environments.
.Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus Grafana ELK App Insights or Splunk.

Preferred with:
oDrools DMN or Rules Engines
oXSLT XML transformation frameworks and canonical/common data models
oSpring Cloud ecosystem
oRedis and distributed caching
oEnterprise integration patterns and workflow orchestration
.Exposure to Financial Services Capital Markets or Banking domains.


Education:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a related discipline.



**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95000$145000. This role is an existing vacancy.
