Senior Financial Analyst Controllership, GTO
Job Summary
We have a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to support CGIs GTO business unit.
Reporting directly to the BU Controllership group you will work closely with business leaders operations teams and finance colleagues across Canada to provide accurate timely and insightful accounting and financial support.
This role goes beyond reporting the numbers. You will develop a strong understanding of the business help operational stakeholders understand their financial drivers challenge assumptions and take ownership of financial matters within your area of responsibility.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by developing accurate well-supported and documented financial plans.
Partner closely with business unit and operational stakeholders to understand business activities financial drivers risks and opportunities.
Analyze financial results against forecasts and budgets identify key variances and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Take ownership of assigned client and project financials including understanding contractual terms financial implications of changes and related accounting considerations.
Support month-end activities and help ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Analyze balance sheet entries and contribute to maintaining balance sheet integrity.
Apply accounting principles including revenue recognition requirements and identify situations requiring further accounting review.
Challenge assumptions and forecasts constructively based on financial analysis and an understanding of business operations.
Identify opportunities to improve financial analyses processes accuracy and efficiency.
Manage special requests and collaborate on internal finance initiatives and projects.
Post-secondary education in accounting finance or a related discipline.
CPA designation preferred. Candidates with relevant finance/accounting education and demonstrated accounting experience may also be considered.
Approximately 4-5 years of relevant professional experience ideally including financial analysis accounting and/or business partnering.
Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to understand business drivers and translate financial information for non-finance stakeholders.
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work effectively with financial systems and large datasets.
Understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition including exposure to IFRS.
Ability to work confidently with operational stakeholders and take ownership of financial matters within your area of responsibility.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels including senior management.
Demonstrated autonomy initiative accountability and problem-solving skills.
Bilingualism in English and French with the ability to participate effectively in a predominantly English-language meeting environment.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60000-$115000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Knowledge of Hyperion (Oracle).
Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization tools.
