Job Summary

AECOM and its partners are leveraging their multidisciplinary expertise to deliver a major hydroelectric project in New Brunswick. We are seeking a Senior Scheduler to join the project team.

Reporting to the Project Controls team the successful candidate will play a key role in the planning scheduling progress monitoring and schedule control of a complex multidisciplinary project. They will work closely with engineering procurement construction and project management teams to provide clear visibility into the project schedule critical milestones and risks that could impact project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop maintain and update detailed integrated schedules covering engineering procurement construction commissioning and interfaces between various disciplines;
  • Develop and maintain the project master schedule including key milestones critical activities constraints and dependencies;
  • Use Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software to develop and maintain project schedules;
  • Perform critical path trend and variance analyses to identify issues that could impact project costs or timelines;
  • Monitor actual progress analyze variances against the baseline schedule and recommend corrective actions and recovery strategies;
  • Collaborate with project managers discipline leads construction teams suppliers and subcontractors to ensure consistent and realistic planning;
  • Incorporate changes constraints and impacts related to engineering procurement construction and multidisciplinary interfaces into project schedules;
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly schedule updates progress reports and project forecasts;
  • Identify analyze and communicate schedule-related risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies;
  • Assess the impact of changes and delays on critical activities and project completion dates;
  • Participate in project planning and controls meetings and present schedule-related issues trends and recommendations to project stakeholders;
  • Ensure the quality integrity and consistency of planning data used to monitor project performance;
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced schedulers and contribute to the continuous improvement of scheduling and schedule control practices.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Project Management Construction or a related field;
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for major and complex projects ideally in the hydroelectric energy heavy construction or infrastructure sectors;
  • Demonstrated experience developing and monitoring schedules for large-scale multidisciplinary projects;
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software;
  • Strong understanding of schedule management principles critical path dependencies resources and variance analysis;
  • Excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling major complex and multidisciplinary projects;
  • Experience with hydroelectric projects dams power generation facilities energy infrastructure or major construction projects;
  • Experience monitoring contractor subcontractor and supplier schedules;
  • Experience with delay analysis claims change management and schedule impact assessments;
  • PMP PMI-SP or equivalent certification;
  • Experience with project performance monitoring and project controls methodologies;
  • Experience working on projects delivered using structured project management practices and within an integrated project environment;
  • French language proficiency both written and verbal considered an asset;
  • Experience on a project delivered in New Brunswick or within a remote project environment is considered an asset.
