Safety Advisor Ontario

Total Group of Companies is currently looking for Safety Advisors for a restoration project in the Hamilton Ontario area.

Position Overview

Safety Advisors support field crews contractors and client representatives by helping maintain safe work practices identifying hazards supporting site safety requirements and promoting a positive safety culture. Work may take place in industrial construction restoration turnaround or remote project environments.

Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting site personnel with daily safety expectations and safe work practices

• Completing site safety observations inspections and hazard assessments

• Assisting with orientations toolbox talks and safety meetings

• Monitoring work activities for compliance with company client and regulatory requirements

• Supporting incident near-miss and hazard reporting processes

• Reviewing documentation such as FLHAs permits JHAs and safety paperwork

• Communicating professionally with workers supervisors and client representatives

• Promoting a positive proactive and solutions-focused safety culture

Qualifications

To be considered for Safety Advisor opportunities candidates must hold one or more of the following designations or equivalent experience:

• NCSO

• CSO

• HSO

• HSE designation or equivalent safety background

Additional Requirements

• Previous experience in a Safety Advisor HSE CSO HSO or similar field safety role preferred

• Able to work independently and communicate clearly with crews supervisors and clients

• Strong attention to detail documentation and site safety processes

• Positive professional and team-focused attitude

• Valid drivers license preferred

• Completion of an Occupational Health and Safety certificate diploma or related safety program is considered an asset

• CRST or CRSP designation is considered a strong asset

• Additional industry-related safety training tickets or professional designations are considered assets including First Aid H2S Alive CSTS Confined Space Fall Protection and WHMIS
