Quality Control Manager – ASME Pressure Vessel Fabrication

Were representing an established industrial fabrication organization seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality operations across complex pressure vessel boiler and welded piping projects serving nuclear and conventional industrial markets.
This is a hands-on leadership mandate for someone who knows ASME Code inside and out understands the realities of fabrication and has the confidence to lead a QC team while maintaining rigorous standards in a demanding production environment.
Youll have direct ownership of the quality control system technical inspections code compliance and final documentation working closely with production customers and Authorized Inspectors.
Lead develop and oversee a team of approximately 45 quality professionals.
Manage the QC system and coordinate inspection activities across multiple fabrication projects.
Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) NDE requirements weld maps and inspection documentation.
Oversee dimensional fit-up visual and welding inspections including NDE hydrotesting and PWHT requirements.
Manage welding procedure and welder qualifications including WPS PQR and WPQ documentation.
Drive non-conformance resolution corrective actions internal audits and continuous improvement.
Coordinate inspections hold points and approvals with customers and TSSA Authorized Inspectors.
Ensure complete accurate and compliant final quality documentation.
Work closely with production leadership to maintain quality standards without compromising operational execution.
Essential Qualifications
Senior-level quality control experience in pressure vessel boiler or code-governed welded fabrication.
Strong working knowledge of ASME Sections I V VIII and IX.
Experience with CSA N285.0 and N299 nuclear quality requirements.
CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector certification.
Demonstrated experience leading QC personnel in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Strong understanding of welding procedures NDE methods inspection requirements and technical documentation.
Experience working directly with production teams customers and inspectors.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
Authorization to work in Canada.
Additional Assets
Experience working with TSSA Authorized Inspectors.
Nuclear fabrication or regulated manufacturing experience.
Experience developing quality procedures SOPs and work instructions.
Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills.
Youre a quality leader who can walk onto a fabrication floor understand whats happening technically and make sound decisions grounded in code requirements.
You know when to challenge production how to support your inspectors and how to maintain credibility with customers and regulatory authorities.
Most importantly youre comfortable taking responsibility for qualitynot simply administering a quality system.
