Job Summary

Quality Assurance Automation Developer

Client: Government of Alberta (GOA) Technology and Innovation (Digital Design & Delivery Division)

Project: Digital Transformation & Digital Design and Delivery (DDD)

Location: Edmonton Alberta (Primarily Remote within Canada; occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton)

Positions: 7

Duration: Approximately 18 months (up to 24-month extension)

Hours: 36.25 hours/week

Expected Interview: Approximately 2 weeks after the posting closes



Job Description

The Government of Alberta is seeking seven (7) Quality Assurance Automation Developers to support Digital Design and Delivery (DDD) initiatives across multiple digital transformation projects.

The successful candidates will work in Agile cross-functional teams responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital services by designing implementing and maintaining automated testing frameworks CI/CD-integrated test suites and quality engineering practices.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive automation test strategies and test plans.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Build automated regression functional integration and end-to-end test suites.
  • Design and execute:
    • System Testing
    • Load Testing
    • Performance Testing
    • Security Testing
    • End-to-End Testing
  • Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
  • Support Agile Scrum teams throughout sprint execution.
  • Promote QA best practices including:
    • Test Driven Development (TDD)
    • Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
    • Code coverage
    • Code linting
  • Develop reusable testing components and automation frameworks.
  • Support AI-enabled testing initiatives.
  • Collect and report QA metrics and testing dashboards.
  • Collaborate with developers product owners UX designers and business stakeholders.

  • 2 years developing automation scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions)
  • 4 years creating and maintaining automation test scripts
  • 3 years preparing automation test plans and test cases
  • 3 years using automation testing frameworks
  • 2 years GitHub
  • 3 years load performance security or end-to-end testing
