Proposals Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Communicate effectively with customers to collect all relevant information relating to the application.
• Ability to work closely with the sales team to create proposals that contain the proper content and price point that will appeal to the customer and generate further discussions.
• Evaluate application and generate system concepts in 2D or 3D.
• Generate Cost Estimates based on performance specifications and customer build specs.
• Finalize concept with customer and/or obtain additional information. Site visits may be required from time to time.
• Create final quotes with all supporting concept drawings and specifications.
• Consistently stay up to date on new technology in order to stay current with the latest technologies that could improve company overall results.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

• Intermediate level AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
• Intermediate level SolidWorks.
• Intermediate level MS Project.
• Intermediate level Microsoft Office.
• Emulate 3D would be considered a strong asset.
• Familiarity and experience with machine design and machine building practices including automated machinery and robotics.
• Intermediate level Pneumatics design and operational principles.
• Must have a good understanding of welding and fabricating practices and materials.
• Intermediate level understanding of controls such as PLC SERVOs and HMIs as it would pertain to costing development.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and non-disclosure as it pertains to sensitive customer information and costing methods.
• Strong mathematical background and a solid understanding of job costing.
• Travel is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Mechanical Engineering Technologist (5 to 8 years of experience in a related Engineering and Manufacturing industry coupled with knowledge and experience of industrial controls).
• Alternately the candidate could be an Electrical / Controls / Robot / Mechatronic Technologist with the same experience and a strong mechanical background.

COMPENSATION:

• Salary range of $118000 to $120000 per year
