Program Accountant

We are currently recruiting a Program Accountant on behalf of our long-standing client a well-established organization known for their innovation and technical expertise. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and close-knit team to provide financial support across assigned programs helping ensure accurate and timely project accounting reporting invoicing and financial coordination.

This is apermanentfull-time hybrid position with three days per week in the Dartmouth office and flexibility around working hours.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Provide project accounting support across assigned programs working closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders
• Monitor project financial activity ensuring transactions and reporting are accurate and timely
• Prepare and support customer invoicing and related documentation
• Assist with project financial reporting forecasting budgeting and analysis
• Review project costs and financial data identifying discrepancies and supporting resolution
• Support month-end and other financial reporting activities
• Contribute to process improvements and other accounting initiatives as required

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
• 4 years of relevant accounting experience including previous project accounting experience
• CPA designation is an asset but not required; the organization is supportive of ongoing CPA development
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Experience in the defense sector or a similar project-based industry is an asset
• Proficiency with IFS and Excel is preferred
