SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure privatization of a railway.
Context
The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history aimed at developing over 1000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers including Toronto Ottawa Montreal and Quebec City.
Missions/Main Duties
Support the Project Management Office (PMO) in its data management tasks including data transformation structuring and analysis.
Ensure the consistency integrity and standardization of project data to meet the PMOs needs.
Automate processes and promote best practices in data management using tools such as Power Query and Power Automate.
Develop financial analyses and key performance indicators (KPIs) for PMO leadership and project teams.
Design analytical visualizations (metadata) using Power BI to assess the current status target objectives and progress of data assets.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and propose appropriate solutions. Ensure the documentation and traceability of processes and data flows to facilitate auditing and maintenance.
Optimize existing tools (Excel SharePoint etc.) to improve team efficiency and data quality.
Ensure data security and compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in data science engineering computer science statistics or a related field. Years of experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role. Technical skills:
Excellent proficiency in Excel: features advanced formulas and analysis.
Skills in data management structuring and ensuring data reliability.
Knowledge of databases and workflows.
Proficiency in Power Query and Power Automate.
Experience producing reports for the Project Management Office (PMO) and Project Management.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing in French and English*
