As a Pipeline Maintenance Technician II you will play an important role in maintaining the reliability and integrity of critical liquids pipeline infrastructure across the Fort McMurray region. What You Will Do:

  • Perform preventative predictive and corrective maintenance on liquids pipelines and associated facilities to support safe reliable operations.

  • Troubleshoot inspect repair and maintain pumps valves motors meters piping systems and other mechanical equipment.

  • Support pipeline integrity programs through inspections corrosion control activities leak detection initiatives and maintenance programs.

  • Execute work orders document maintenance activities and maintain regulatory compliance using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Participate in facility turnarounds commissioning activities hydrostatic testing pigging operations and major maintenance projects.

  • Collaborate with Operations Engineering Integrity and contractor teams to improve equipment performance and operational effectiveness.

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by conducting hazard assessments following safe work practices and supporting emergency response activities when required.

Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in pipeline terminal facility or oil and gas maintenance operations.

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Experience maintaining rotating and stationary equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs technical drawings equipment manuals and operational procedures.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.

  • Commitment to safety environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

Preferred:
  • Journeyperson certification as a Millwright Industrial Mechanic Heavy Equipment Technician Instrumentation Technician Power Engineer or a related trade.

  • Experience working on liquids pipeline systems and associated facilities.

  • Familiarity with centrifugal pumps positive displacement pumps valve actuators and metering equipment.

  • Current certifications such as H2S Alive First Aid/CPR WHMIS TDG Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection.

Working Conditions:
  • Based inFort McMurray Alberta.

  • 7 days on / 7 days offrotation consisting of12-hour shifts during the weekdays and 10-hour shifts on weekends.

  • Participate in a rotating on call schedule for when on shift.

  • Regular travel to remote pipeline facilities pump stations valve sites and right-of-way locations throughout the operating area.

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladders work at heights lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Participation in emergency response activities and after-hours callouts as operational needs require.

  • Additional overtime opportunities may be available during maintenance projects outages and emergency response events.
