The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Integrity Engineer who has knowledge and experience in pipeline integrity management engineering assessment and risk-based decision making for South Bows pipeline assets. This individual has the proven technical skills engineering judgment and capacity to support the safe reliable and compliant operation of South Bows pipeline system through integrity threat assessment mitigation planning technical analysis and continuous improvement of integrity programs.
What youll do
Lead pipeline integrity assessments engineering evaluations and technical reviews to identify assess and mitigate integrity threats.
Analyze inspection operating corrosion geotechnical and maintenance data to support sound engineering decisions and risk-based recommendations.
Develop and execute preventative and mitigative integrity plans that support safe reliable and compliant pipeline operations.
Provide technical support for integrity-related field activities including inspections investigations digs repairs and site assessments.
Support fitness-for-service evaluations repair recommendations and engineering documentation related to pipeline integrity concerns.
Collaborate with Operations Maintenance Projects Regulatory and Engineering teams to resolve integrity issues and support asset reliability.
Develop maintain and improve engineering standards procedures technical guidance and integrity management practices.
Support regulatory compliance by preparing technical documentation responding to information requests and participating in audits or reviews.
Monitor integrity program performance and identify opportunities to improve processes data quality and risk reduction strategies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers technologists contractors and other internal stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Materials Civil Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
5 or more years of progressive engineering experience in pipeline integrity pipeline engineering asset integrity management corrosion engineering or a related discipline.
Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (.) in good standing.
Working knowledge of pipeline integrity management principles engineering assessment methods and risk-based decision-making.
Working knowledge of applicable Canadian pipeline codes regulations and standards.
Experience reviewing and interpreting technical data such as inline inspection non-destructive examination excavation findings corrosion monitoring or operational data.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting integrity management programs for liquids pipelines.
Experience with corrosion cracking deformation geohazard third-party damage or other pipeline integrity threat management programs.
Experience preparing engineering assessments technical reports regulatory documentation and repair recommendations.
Knowledge of Canadian Energy Regulator requirements and industry best practices related to pipeline integrity.
Experience using integrity management systems data analysis tools or risk assessment software.
Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to junior technical staff.
This position requires candidates to:
Travel to other company locations field sites and project locations for meetings inspections investigations or training.
Provide support for integrity-related operational issues or emergency response activities as required.
