Job Summary
Earls Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our teaminSaskatoon is a 5 to 6-month term position with the possibility of an extension!Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient careGreet customers and answer phone calls in a professional mannerAssist with entering labelling and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technicianAccurately count measure and package medications according to established protocolsReceive and stock medication and supply shipments monitor inventory levels rotate stock and support inventory auditsIndependent complex order entry address insurance claims and billing issues flag concerns to pharmacists and ensure accurate paperwork the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste according to regulationsPerform clerical tasks such as filing faxing scanning and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfersAssist pharmacists with clerical tasks report printing and distributionAudit narcotic prescriptions and schedule outdated pharmaceutical expired medications and returns to McKesson orders and coordinate with secondary with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as -Term Care Home Visits:A valid drivers licence is required along with access to a reliable personal motor vehicle for weekly Long-Term Care Home will be provided for the use of your personal motor vehicle for these weekly visits for refills med returns audits and stat box monthly billing and batch fill :Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy skilled in the use of Kroll with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data home experience is considered verbal and written communication skills ability to thrive in a team environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience in advanced skills (e.g. Compounding automation central fill compliance packaging OAT).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containersWillingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays as neededSchedule:40 hours per week (Full-time).The usual shifts will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.8-hour shiftsCandidates must be flexible and available to work weekend shifts as required to support business & Benefits:Comprehensive health and dental benefitsExtended Health CareStore discountOpportunity for career growth and professional development supportWho We Are:Neighbourly Pharmacy is Canadas largest and fastest growing network of community pharmacies.
