Are you a passionate fitness leader driven to empower trainers and elevate client experiences The City of Edmontons Community Services Department is seeking a dynamic Personal Training Coordinator to lead our dedicated personal training team.

You will directly support trainers in expanding their reach optimizing sales and delivering top-tier fitness services across our community recreation facilities. What will you do
Drive team performance and operational excellence by setting targets managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking client conversion and retention metrics
Recruit train mentor and coach certified personal trainers to build a successful high-performing fitness business
Oversee the client intake assignment process and lead generation initiatives to connect community members with the ideal personal trainer
Design implement and evaluate innovative personal training programs and services aligned with emerging trends in the fitness and wellness industry
Manage staff schedules timesheets program statistics registration forms and budget details to ensure smooth business operations
Maintain strong communication channels and build collaborative relationships with staff facility leaders and community partners
Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety standards emergency procedures and corporate policies across all training spaces
Other related duties as required
- Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Recreation Physical Education or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of practical work experience in program delivery
- Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification (such as CSEP-CPT/CEP CSCS CanFitPro PTS FAB CPFT or equivalent)
Assets:
- 5 years of experience as a Personal Trainer
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proven track record in creating and delivering training seminars or continuing education courses
- Multiple continuing education certifications in specialized fitness discipline
Skills required for success:
- Proven ability to build grow and sustain a business unit while attracting and retaining clientele
- Strong leadership mentoring and team-building skills to empower and motivate staff
- Excellent time management organizational and follow-up skills with the capacity to balance competing priorities
- Exceptional communication and decision-making abilities to foster positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary environment
- Proficiency in digital tools and software including Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace and recreation management software (e.g. Intelli/RAMS)

Conditions of Employment:
- Full-time availability including readiness to work weekends and holidays as operational needs require
- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and there may be a cost associated with this requirement

Work Environment:
- Note: Due to the nature of this work this position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
- Light physical effort including standing walking crouching reaching and lifting equipment up to 20 lbs
- Fast-paced environment with periods of high volume complex scheduling and interactions with patrons and community groups

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week
Salary Range: $31.663 - $39.736 (Hourly); $55782.290 - $70004.900 (Annually)
