How Youll Make an Impact

  • Process biweekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner using Workday Payroll.

  • Calculate regular earnings retroactive pay overtime bonuses allowances and statutory deductions.

  • Validate payroll results through audits reconciliations and exception reporting.

  • Process off-cycle payments payroll corrections and year-end adjustments.

  • Ensure accurate tax withholdings and remittances (federal provincial CPP EI).

  • Ensure compliance with employment standards tax legislation and organizational policies.

  • Produce and submit Records of Employment (ROE) in accordance with Federal regulations.

  • Generate bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll reports and prepare year-end payroll activities including T4/T4A processing.

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Provide guidance to managers and HR partners on pay deductions and payroll timelines.

  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy efficiency and controls.

  • Contribute to process improvements and payroll best practices within Workday.

  • Stay current with payroll legislation and Workday payroll functionality.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 25 years of hands-on payroll administration experience preferably in a medium to large sized organization.

  • Working towards or completion of Canadian Payroll Association certification (PCP or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements (Provincial/Federal Employment Standards CPP EI T4/T4A).

  • Experience using Workday Payroll; Workday reporting or testing experience is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel for payroll analysis and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of full-cycle payroll and fundamentals of accounting.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical problem-solving and reconciliation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver effective service to employees and stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a cyclical high-volume processing environment including occasional overtime during payroll cutoffs and year-end.

  • Experience supporting year-end payroll activities and audits.
