Position Information:

Durham College is seeking an experiencedand motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and studentsuccess. Professional and Part-Time Learning (PPL) requires a part-timefacilitator for the course entitled A Essentials - Operating Systems andSoftware. This course will be delivered online.

Important note for Part-Time Facilitatorapplicants:
Part-time recruitment is ongoing and isdependent on when courses are being offered and the need for staff to -time staff will facilitate up to 6 hours per week. For more informationabout the programs we offer or working for PPLwe invite you to please visit our website: responsibilities of Durham College Part-Time Facilitators include but are not limited to:

  • Creating a positive learning environment that accommodate studentsdiverse cultural and educational backgrounds experiences and individuallearning styles;
  • Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage students inthe learning process;
  • Effectively using educational technologies to support learning as wellas managing and posting grades;
  • Developing curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools toassess student learning;
  • Ensuring that all course content is current and relevant;
  • Working independently and demonstrating initiative; and
  • Working effectively with students the program team and a variety ofinternal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of recent industry experiencethat relates directly to the topic being taught;
  • Knowledge of Acertification and updates
  • Holds a Masters degree (or higher) inCybersecurity Computer Science or an adjacent addition a BachelororMaster of Education are considered assets;
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level orwithin an Environmental Management environment with the demonstratedapplication of adult educational principles and teaching/assessmentmethodologies;
  • Superior skills in the areas of verbal and writtencommunication interpersonal skills critical thinking and problem solving;
  • Excellent organizational and time managementskills;
  • Track record in meeting deadlines;
  • Experienced in the use of technology to supportstudent learning and manage grades;
  • Self-motivated and independent worker who alsofunctions well in a team environment;
  • Committed to life-long learning;
  • Understanding of the Ontario community collegesystem.
