Job Summary

HERD the leader in front-end collision protection is committed to producing the highest quality of leading-edge products for our customers.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance and the ability to identify and resolve issues with minimal supervision. This role is critical to keeping our production equipment and facility operating safely and efficiently.

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: 2168 Springfield Road (no bus routes)
Shift: Full-time Monday Friday 3:30PM - 11:30PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot repair adjust and maintain mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision.

  • Diagnose equipment issues and repair or replace defective parts components and systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain robotic and automated production equipment.

  • Perform facility maintenance and general repairs as required.

  • Clean lubricate inspect and perform routine maintenance on production equipment.

  • Conduct safety inspections and equipment checks to identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals equipment documentation schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical and control-system issues.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability safety and production efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues and completed repairs to the appropriate team members.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests.

  • Follow all company safety policies procedures and applicable regulations.

  • Maintain a clean organized and safe maintenance area and work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills involving mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience repairing and maintaining robotic or automated equipment is an asset.

  • Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot common electrical issues.

  • PLC knowledge or experience is an asset.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Strong analytical diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency with a proven ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production needs.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
