Location: Toronto ON (Onsite 4 Days/Week)

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design develop and support enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies DB2 COBOL and JCL along with the ability to independently analyze requirements develop technical solutions and mentor junior developers. Experience with modern development practices and AI-assisted coding tools is an added advantage.

• Design develop test and maintain IBM Mainframe applications.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and prepare detailed technical designs.
• Develop and enhance applications using COBOL JCL DB2 SQL and IMS.
• Perform unit testing code reviews deployment and production support activities.
• Analyze IMS segments and DB2 database objects to design efficient application solutions.
• Participate in end-to-end field mapping system integration and data validation.
• Collaborate with business analysts QA teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance during project delivery.
• Utilize Endevor File-AID CA-7 and other mainframe tools for development and job scheduling.
• Track project tasks incidents and documentation using Jira Confluence and ServiceNow.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Visual Studio Code to improve productivity.
• Participate in application maintenance troubleshooting performance optimization and production support.

• Strong experience with IBM Mainframe technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in COBOL JCL SQL DB2 IMS Endevor File-AID and CA-7.
• Strong understanding of DB2 database objects SQL processing and database analysis.
• Experience creating technical designs and independently delivering development tasks.
• Experience with Jira Confluence ServiceNow and INSYNC.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot Visual Studio Code and AI-assisted software development.
• Strong analytical debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.

• Knowledge of Kafka and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to application modernization initiatives.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale financial or banking applications.
• Strong adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
