What We Are Looking For:

Aird & Berlis LLP is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Library Clerk. The ideal candidate is organized proactive and comfortable working independently in a professional environment. We are looking for someone who is methodical resourceful and takes pride in being accurate reliable and accountable for their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the processing and distribution of library materials and lawyer desk copies
  • Opening and sorting mail and incoming book deliveries
  • Processing and sorting loose-leaf filing and updating of law binders in the library
  • Carding of books
  • Shelving library books and publications according to the KF-Modified classification system
  • Assisting the Supervisor Library Services on special projects
  • Additional clerical duties as assigned
  • Produce the highest quality of work
  • Accountable for all work assigned
  • Takes initiative
  • Confidential

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a law library or similar professional setting is preferred
  • Must be able to carry out routine methodical tasks efficiently using print resources
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Must be able to move and unpack boxes of books load books on a book truck and push a book truck
  • Must be able to climb a step stool and/or ladder to retrieve and shelve books

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is 18-20/hr; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills experience and internal and market equity.
