Level Designer Gears of War The Coalition (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

• Contribute to the design and development of multiple levels from concept through final polish.
• Use Unreal as well as proprietary tools to create and debug levels.
• Be accountable for the design quality and player experience of assigned levels.
• Regularly collaborate with other level designers technical designers and artists.
• Serve as a collaborator and point of contact for partner teams including Cinematics Visual Effects Audio and Engineering.
• Use the Unreal tools to implement memorable challenges combat objectives and scripted events.
• Participate in feedback and review sessions contributing constructive input on your work and that of teammates.
• Regularly present work progress incorporate feedback and iterate on designs.
• Create and maintain design documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Art Writing Behavioral Science Data Science Game Design or related field AND 2 years experience in game development and design systems design content production or related field.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years experience in level design for games.
• Shipped at least 1 AAA game.
• Understanding of level design principles technical constraints and narrative integration.
• Experience implementing and leveraging gameplay systems within level design.
• Experience working collaboratively in a cross-discipline development environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is $99200-166800CAD per year.
