About the Role

Firma Concrete is looking for a motivatedJunior Estimatorto join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating and project management. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers learning every aspect of the estimating process while contributing to a wide variety of commercial civil and concrete construction projects.

No estimating experience is required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and specifications.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Request and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Assist in preparing estimates and project bids.
• Maintain estimating databases and project documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers field supervisors and suppliers.
• Help prepare budgets cost reports and bid packages.
• Attend site visits as required.
• Support the estimating and operations teams with administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read construction drawings is an asset.
• Construction experience is an asset but not required.
• Civil concrete or commercial construction knowledge is considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology Civil Engineering Technology Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Valid Class 5 drivers licence.
