Java Application Developer

Position Description:

CGI is seeking an Application Developer with experience in Java-based application development database technologies and modern web development frameworks to join our this role you will develop enhance and maintain enterprise applications using Java EE Spring Boot Angular Oracle and IBM WebSphere while supporting reporting solutions with Power BI. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable high-quality technical solutions support application deployments and troubleshoot production issues. This is a permanent full-time hybrid position requiring employees to work 3 days per week from the office. Eligible candidates must be located in or willing to work from any of CGIs Atlantic office locations including Halifax NS; Moncton NB; Fredericton NB; Stratford PEI; and St. Johns NL.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Develop enhance and maintain backend applications using Java Spring Boot and related technologies.
Build and support responsive front-end applications using Angular.
Design and develop Power BI dashboards reports and data models to support business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Develop and maintain Oracle database objects SQL queries and stored procedures.
Support application deployments and troubleshoot issues across development and production environments.
Work with IBM WebSphere Application Server to deploy and maintain enterprise applications.
Perform basic Linux server administration tasks to support application environments.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Experience with Java EE development including EJB Fundamentals Servlets and JSP.
Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
Knowledge of Angular development.
Strong SQL and Oracle database skills.
Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
Understanding of Linux server commands and basic system operations.
Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50000 - $95000. This is an existing vacancy.
