We are seeking aStructural Engineer specializing in Hydropower Developments Spillways and Pumped Storage Facilities to join our team in St. Johns Newfoundland and Labrador.

• Support on engineering mandates related to the hydropower sector.
• Design hydraulic structures for hydroelectric and pumped storage facilities across all project phases from conceptual studies through detailed engineering.
• Support the rehabilitation of hydroelectric developments concrete dams and spillways by conducting studies and preparing detailed engineering designs for existing infrastructure upgrades.
• Participate in project planning activities.
• Contribute to project cost estimating.
• Support tendering processes and bid evaluations.
• Provide technical support to project and construction teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design and coordination activities.
• Ensure the quality of structural engineering deliverables produced within the Hydropower and Dams team.
• Identify client needs and develop innovative technical solutions to meet project Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (.) registered or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
• 5-10 years of structural engineering experience with a focus on the design and rehabilitation of hydroelectric facilities.
• Strong English communication and technical report writing skills.
• Proficiency with numerical modelling and analysis tools used for hydraulic structures and hydroelectric generating facilities.
• Willingness to travel on short-term assignments as required.
• Experience working on major utility projects would be considered a strong asset.
• Sound knowledge of concrete and steel design standards and codes (CSA National Building Code of Canada CSA S16 and related standards).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and hydropower infrastructure.
• Excellent coordination and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to meet quality budget and schedule objectives.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to thrive in complex and evolving project environments.
