Key Responsibilities
Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for approximately 180200 employees.
Administer wage adjustments employee benefits government remittances and payroll-related documentation.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Prepare Records of Employment and other required employee documentation.
Interpret and apply collective agreements employment legislation and workplace policies.
Manage employee relations matters workplace investigations discipline and termination processes.
Support managers with performance concerns workplace complaints bullying and harassment matters.
Coordinate recruitment interviewing onboarding and employee documentation.
Oversee health and safety compliance WSIB matters disability claims and return-towork programs.
Conduct health and safety audits at multiple GTA locations.
Prepare reports for senior leadership government agencies and the Board.
Communicate with employees managers union representatives government agencies and external service providers.
Travel between locations across the GTA as required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum three years of progressive human resources experience.
CHRP or CHRL designation or a degree in Human Resources Management.
Direct experience using PayWork and Workforce.
Strong payroll experience including Records of Employment benefits administration and government remittances.
Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation including: o Employment Standards Act o Ontario Human Rights Code o Occupational Health and Safety Act o Pay Equity Act o WSIB requirements
Experience independently handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong judgment professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel between GTA locations as required.
