We are seeking anOccupational Health and Safety Student for ourToronto District within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for4 or 8 months starting September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations
- Managing documents (ie. data entry SMC entries taking minutes filing etc.)
- Assisting with the orientation of new employees
- Developing of training materials
- Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI tailgate meetings safework procedure trend analysis)
- Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program
- Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements
- Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district
- Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information
- Interpreting communicating and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce
Qualifications
- Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
- Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance
- Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards
- The ability to determine the cause of an incident and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong willingness to learn

The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33 based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
