Hotel Accountant

Were seeking a Hotel Accountant for a contract opportunity with our well-established Halifax-based client who has a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality and real estate operations. Reporting to the Controller the successful candidate will support accounting activities across a portion of the organizations operations with a primary focus on income statement reporting and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Manage accounting activities for approximately one and a half hotels
• Take primary ownership of income statement reporting and related accounting functions
• Manage accounts receivable activities including reconciliations and follow-up as required
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial information and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and other regular accounting processes
• Support accurate and timely financial reporting across assigned properties
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and assist with other accounting requirements as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with full-cycle or property/hospitality accounting considered an asset
• Experience with Sage Intacct or Yardi is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger accounting team
• Availability to fulfill the full duration of the contract
