Job Summary
Role Overview
The student Graphic Designer works alongside the MSA Communications Team to create visually engaging and effective design assets that support marketing initiatives and enhance brand this role you will design digital and print materials that communicate information accessibly accurately and in a way that resonates with students. You will contribute to a collaborative fast-paced environment using your creativity and design skills to bring ideas to life while ensuring all work aligns with MSA brand standards values and the Equity Sequence. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail creativity and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering impactful student-focused designs.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute design concepts that support campaigns events and student services.
- Design and produce a variety of print and digital assets including posters brochures social media graphics and web content ensuring alignment with MSA brand standards.
- Review project briefs and contribute creative ideas through brainstorming concept development and mock-ups.
- Manage assigned projects from concept through to final delivery incorporating feedback and meeting deadlines.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements provide updates and ensure accuracy while staying current on design trends and best practices.
Qualifications Needed:
- Must be or will be enrolled in a Mohawk College program for the upcoming term
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Customer service experience
- Must be available to work based on the business needs of the department through your school schedule
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes
- Demonstrated interest in supporting and engaging post-secondary students through thoughtful inclusive design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and Illustrator) and familiarity with web content management systems
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals and general UX principles with the ability to apply brand guidelines consistently
- Ability to manage multiple projects prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and contribute within a team environment
- Positive adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced creative setting
