WHAT WILL YOU DO

As an early professional in Geotechnical Engineering you willdemonstrateyour technical knowledge in the field and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field assessments collecting samples and supporting Project Leads in the preparation of reports.

JOB DUTIES

  • Conductfieldworkon a varietyof geotechnical projects including boreholedrilling test pitting independent field reviewssamplingobservingand monitoring work practicessupport intrusive investigations
  • Assist with site visits for slope stability assessments foundation inspections subgrade inspections pavement condition surveys and other geotechnical investigations.
  • Collect field data including interviewing third parties and collecting photographs and conduct dataâanalysisâand interpretation and with project leads support geotechnical recommendations.ââ
  • Prepare technical documentationie. Drafting borehole/test pit logs field observation reports.
  • Interpret and synthesize data from field investigations and laboratory testing to support engineering evaluations design recommendations and client reports.
  • Manage and documentâequipment maintenance.â
  • Trackâessential equipmentâmaterialsâand supplies.â
  • Working to meet internal and external deadlines may result in occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and applicable legislative requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • DegreefromauniversityCivil/ Geological Engineeringprogram or equivalent education/experience.
  • 0-3yearsofemploymentexperience(preferablyinconsultingoracombinationofsectors)
  • Thesuccessfulcandidatewilldemonstrateexcellentcommunicationskillswithfluency(readingwritingand oral)in English
  • Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.

ADDITIONALASSETS

  • Passion for fieldwork and the ability to thrive independently in fast-paced evolving project environments.
  • Previous experience or exposure to active construction sites and geotechnical field investigations is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical logging and soil classification.
