GENERAL SHOP LABOURER
SPS West Calgary Alberta
Full-time day shift
Pay: Depending on experience

SPS West is looking for a dependable hands-on person to support our Calgary manufacturing team.

This is practical shop work: preparing and finishing parts moving materials helping with assembly packaging products and keeping the shop organized. Were looking for someone who shows up reliably follows instructions and takes pride in doing a job properly.

This is a general labour and production-support position. Welding experience is not required and a welding apprenticeship is not available as part of this role.

What youll do

  • Measure cut drill and prepare parts using shop equipment and hand and power tools
  • Grind deburr clean and finish metal components
  • Move and organize materials and fabricated parts
  • Help the fabrication team handle and position materials
  • Prepare and clean parts before and after fabrication
  • Assist with product assembly
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment
  • Keep work areas tools and materials clean and organized
  • Follow company safety procedures and quality standards

Location: Calgary AB Department: Manufacturing / Fabrication Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager Position Overview SPS West is seeking a full-time Welder/Fitter to support in-house fabrication of industrial equipment and assemblies. This role is hands-on and production-focused requiring strong TIG and MIG welding skills across carbon steel stainless steel and aluminum. Journeyman certification is not required; demonstrated skill reliability and pride in workmanship are non-negotiable.
