First-Year Experience Coordinator
Job Summary
This is a dynamic student-focused role that combines program management partner collaboration and event delivery to create meaningful opportunities for connection belonging and success. Working with a high degree of autonomy the Coordinator leads complex initiatives involving hundreds of students multiple campus partners and a blend of in-person online and hybrid experiences.
Through strategic planning strong relationship-building and data-informed decision-making the incumbent helps deliver a consistent high-quality student experience while driving continuous improvements that support student engagement transition and persistence.
- Coordinate and deliver New Student Orientation and first-year experience programs including in-person and virtual events.
- Lead event planning and logistics including scheduling facilities technology catering signage and on-site operations.
- Support and oversee student volunteer programs including recruitment training scheduling supervision recognition and engagement.
- Manage volunteer tracking systems and analyze participation data to enhance volunteer experiences and leadership development opportunities.
- Coordinate peer mentorship and student transition initiatives including participant recruitment program delivery and ongoing support.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with academic schools Student Services Marketing the Registrars Office and other campus partners.
- Develop and deliver clear communications to students volunteers and campus partners.
- Lead meetings with partners establish project timelines and coordinate cross-functional onboarding and engagement initiatives.
- Collect analyze and report on program participation feedback and outcomes to support continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process enhancements that improve operational efficiency and the student experience.
- Ensure accurate documentation data integrity and compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Lead the development administration and evaluation of the Peer Mentorship Program including outreach training engagement strategies and impact assessment.
- Bachelors degree in Communications Education Human Services or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in student programming or event management
- Experience coordinating events orientations onboarding or student transition programs.
- Strong organizational project management and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse campus and community partners.
- Student-focused approach with a strong commitment to customer service and creating positive student experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage competing priorities during peak activity periods.
