ODSP PHY SW Team works on Marvells Networking PAM4 DSPs for use in data center optical modules. The SW team owns all the SW components that interacts with the DSPs including embedded FW customer SDK lab test and QA. The SW team is a critical part of the product development flow and is the goto group for getting things done whether in the field or the lab.

Marvells DSPs are used in 100G to 1.6T optical modules in every major cloud data center around the world. Even the data used for this job description has travelled through many of Marvells DSPs to reach your computer and our products are a key part of the biggest AI clusters that power all the latest generative AI projects.

What You Can Expect

  • Develop embedded C FW for controlling extremely complicated DSP HW
  • Develop C & Python test code for utilities GUIs regression and simulation infrastructure
  • Take an idea from concept through design review implementation test and release to customers
  • Work on mission critical features for top tier cloud customers
  • Debug difficult issues drive to root causes with HW/SW teams and follow up with Jira tickets to get bugs resolved

What Were Looking For

  • Candidate MUST be currently pursuing a BS degree in CS/EE or related technical field(s)
  • 1 years of related course work
  • Must be curious and driven to learn more about this complicated field
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • Excellent problem solving skills with good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • You can explain why as well as how you solved a problem
  • Strong Programming skills in C and Python with knowledge of git linux makefiles gdb IDEs and bash a plus
  • Strong understanding of the software development flow from issue tracking (Jira) SCM (gitlab) design & code reviews (also gitlab) continuous integration (Jenkins) and regression testing
  • Understanding the fundamentals of computer and processor architecture
  • Basic understanding of how a processor interacts with memories and peripherals
  • Understanding of fundamental networking from the OSI model with emphasis on the PHY up to the data link level
  • Experience working on MCU embedded processors environments is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code GitHub Copilot Cursor) is a strong plus along with the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code

Expected Base Pay Range (CAD)

32 - 43 $ per hour.
