TI has over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design development and delivery of a wide range of effective client-centered services. By incorporating the principles of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population. Reporting to the Manager of Kamatsiarniq Initiatives the Education and Training Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of Cultural Sensitivity Training and development which aims to develop an Inuit-specific curriculum-based program for service providers working with Inuit children youth and families. The Education and Training Coordinator will coordinate all workplan activities and ensure project deliverables are achieved. The Education and Training Coordinator is also responsible for the planning organization and delivery of various virtual and in-person training initiatives and workshops for Inuit service providers; for foster caregivers and kin caregivers who are caring for Inuit children; and for childrens aid societies and other service providers that deliver services to Inuit children youth and families in :Lead plan coordinate and manage all activities related to co-facilitating training sessions (e.g. meetings consultations management of consultants curriculum development delivery of programs etc.).Assist in the organization coordination and execution of consultations curriculum development sessions and co-facilitate training. Assist with travel and transportation arrangements for participants. Identify and resolve issues that arise in project delivery and report concerns to the Manager of Kamatsiarniq all tracking evaluation and reporting requirements of funders and TI and prepare and submit various reports as required (project status updates participant enrolment etc.) Adhere to the project budget and work closely with the Manager of Kamatsiarniq for reimbursements and honoraria to be provided to project participants as and maintain positive working relationships and engage with various agencies and stakeholders to strengthen develop and promote the regularly with Manager partners funders and other stakeholders to keep them update on the role of Elders and cultural knowledge holders in sharing traditional knowledge within the plan and coordinate the delivery of the following training and education programs in-person and virtually: Education workshops for Inuit service providers Inuit cultural competency training for childrens aid societies residential service providers foster caregivers and kin caregivers health care professionals police services and other service providers to improve their ability to provide culturally appropriate services and supports for Inuit children and and training workshops for Inuit parents and youth involved with or at risk of involvement with childrens aid societies to increase their knowledge of their rights and child protection process in Ontario. Engage with subject matter experts community members and Elders to develop content for training and coordinate subject matter experts facilitators and Elders to assist with the delivery of workshops. Oversee the implementation of protocols which maintain activity spaces and ensure the environment is clean and promote training to relevant service provider organizations and community the purchasing printing and distribution of all materials required for training and implement evaluation processes to gather participant feedback and assess effectiveness of education and training program participant data and meet all tracking evaluation and reporting requirements of funder and TI and prepare and submit various reports as required. Adhere to project budgets and work closely with the Manager of Kamatsiarniq initiatives and Director for reimbursements and honoraria to be provided to guest speakers Elders and other third parties as required. Establish and maintain positive working relationships and engage with various TI programs partner organizations Elders and cultural knowledge holders community members and other stakeholders to develop deliver and promote training familiar with and comply with all of TIs policies and procedures; andAny other duties assigned to you as may reasonably be required in line with the Positions main responsibilitiesEducation Qualifications and Skills:A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant program of study such as Indigenous Studies Education Early Childhood Education Social Work or Social Services. Experience providing workshops group facilitation and developing and delivering training and educationExperience in project and/or program management and event planning and coordinationExperience working with the Inuit community and in a not-for-profit community organizationProficient use of MS Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook video-conferencing platformsKnowledge of education and training techniques curriculum development and program evaluation knowledge of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and Inuit culture societal values customs and -depth and comprehensive understanding of the history of Inuit in Canada and the impact of urbanization and colonization as well as the socio-economic determinates of health that impact urban Inuit in knowledge of project management techniques and interpersonal skills communication (oral and written) public speaking group facilitation financial management and budgeting ability to multi-task and complete multiple assignments initiative motivated and able to work independently and with a high degree of autonomy while knowing when to communicate and consult with supervisor team members and subject matter to work from a strength-based trauma-informed and community member centered to operationalize a decolonizing and anti-oppressive ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team environment; andFluency in English required fluency in Inuktitut is an asset.**Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
