Dispatch Manager

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Dispatch Manager for our Concord Terminal. Reporting to the Terminal Manager the successful candidate will lead a high-performing dispatch team while ensuring exceptional service operational efficiency and safe compliant transportation operations.

• Lead and oversee the terminals 24/7 dispatch operation ensuring service safety and operational objectives are achieved.
• Supervise coach develop and schedule dispatch personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage daily pickup and delivery operations to ensure customer commitments are met efficiently and cost effectively.
• Optimize driver equipment and route utilization to maximize productivity and achieve budget and service targets.
• Monitor key operational KPIs including on-time performance service levels equipment utilization and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations Hours of Service requirements safety standards and company policies.
• Collaborate with Customer Service Dock Operations Sales and Linehaul teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Oversee staffing plans vacation scheduling and resource allocation to ensure operational coverage.
• Support employee performance management activities including coaching development planning and performance reviews.
• Investigate operational challenges identify process improvements and implement solutions that improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• 5 years of transportation dispatch experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience in transportation logistics or a related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch operations fleet utilization transportation regulations and safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with transportation management systems and AS400 is considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in Business Logistics Transportation or a related field is considered an asset.
