Job Summary
Position Description:
The Cybersecurity AI Engineering Specialist is part of CGIs Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) which provides 24/7 security monitoring threat detection and incident response capabilities across the organization.
The Cybersecurity AI Engineering Specialist is responsible for designing developing and implementing AI powered capabilities that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations. Working across Security Monitoring Detection Engineering Incident Response Threat Intelligence and Security Engineering teams the role focuses on applying artificial intelligence automation and large language models (LLMs) to improve threat detection accelerate investigations reduce analyst workload and strengthen cyber resilience.
The role combines cybersecurity expertise with software engineering and AI development to create intelligent solutions that automate repetitive tasks enrich security investigations improve detection engineering workflows and provide decision support to security analysts. The successful candidate will evaluate emerging AI technologies build secure AI powered applications and ensure responsible use of AI within security operations.
This role requires a strong understanding of modern AI frameworks cloud technologies and software development. Experience in cybersecurity operations and detection engineering is desirable. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and engineering skills together with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Design develop and maintain AI powered tools that enhance security monitoring detection engineering incident response and threat hunting activities.
. Build intelligent assistants AI agents copilots and automation workflows using Large Language Models (LLMs) Generative AI and modern agentic AI frameworks.
. Develop AI solutions that automate alert triage investigation workflows evidence collection reporting and knowledge retrieval.
. Collaborate with Security Monitoring Incident Response Detection Engineering Threat Intelligence and Security Engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI driven improvements.
. Develop and maintain secure integrations between AI services and enterprise security platforms including SIEM SOAR EDR and case management systems.
. Create Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that securely utilise internal security documentation playbooks threat intelligence and operational knowledge.
. Engineer prompts workflows and AI guardrails to ensure reliable secure and responsible use of Generative AI.
. Develop scripts APIs and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort across the GSOC.
. Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve cyber defence capabilities.
. Work closely with security teams to validate AI generated recommendations and ensure operational effectiveness.
. Ensure AI solutions comply with organisational security privacy governance and regulatory requirements.
. Produce technical documentation solution designs and operational guidance for AI enabled capabilities.
. Contribute to continuous innovation within the GSOC by researching emerging AI techniques cybersecurity technologies and automation opportunities.
. Research adversarial AI techniques and AI enabled cyber threats and translate findings into detections and controls.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) Generative AI prompt engineering and AI application development.
. Experience developing AI applications using frameworks such as LangChain Semantic Kernel AutoGen OpenAI SDKs Microsoft AI Foundry or similar technologies including experience building AI assistants or agentic workflows.
. Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) vector databases embeddings and knowledge retrieval concepts.
. Experience developing automation workflows and integrating enterprise systems using APIs SDKs AI tool integrations or emerging interoperability standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP).
. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to translate operational challenges into technical solutions.
. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
. Experience working within cybersecurity security operations detection engineering incident response or security engineering.
. Experience developing software or automation solutions using Python or other modern programming languages.
. Understanding of secure AI development AI governance model evaluation and responsible AI principles.
. Knowledge of Kubernetes Docker GitHub Actions Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications & Certifications
. Bachelors degree in Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Cyber Security Software Engineering Information Technology or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
. Relevant industry certifications are desirable including one or more of: Microsoft AI 102: Azure AI Engineer Associate Microsoft AI 900: Azure AI Fundamentals CompTIA Security CISSP AWS Certified AI Practitioner Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer: IBM AI Engineering Professional Certificate
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110000$155000. This role is an existing vacancy
