Cost Accountant

• Maintain and forecast the inventory costing system ensuring accurate product costs and inventory valuation
• Analyze manufacturing costs production variances and inventory trends providing recommendations to improve financial performance
• Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets forecasts and financial analyses
• Support internal and external financial reporting requirements including year-end audit activities
• Partner with Operations Supply Chain and Procurement to improve costing accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor and analyze inventory movements and assist with physical inventory counts and reconciliations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives that strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency
• Perform other accounting and financial analysis duties as required.

• CPA designation or be actively pursuing a CPA designation
• 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles cost accounting inventory valuation and financial analysis
• Experience supporting year-end audits
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (experience with Business Central is considered an asset)
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
