You will maintain a clean sanitized and safe kitchen environment while fostering a warm respectful atmosphere for our ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & ServicePrepare cook and bake meals for residents staff and visitors following standardized recipes production sheets therapeutic diet plans and special request daily menus to confirm ingredient availability and arrange approved temporary substitutions when items for cafeteria service and catering events ensuring proper preparation and timely the Dietitian with specific recipe needs including ensuring vegetarian and therapeutic options are Operations & SafetyOpen the main kitchen in the morning and review the communication book and daily staff schedule for updates or staffing record and log daily refrigerator freezer steam table and food temperatures promptly reporting any equipment issues or safety concerns to maintenance/ pull and temper meats according to safe food handling label store and maintain 72-hour food samples and leftovers according to HACCP with ordering receiving and properly storing fresh and frozen groceries from approved sanitize and maintain all kitchen equipment work surfaces and facilities in compliance with infection control and hygiene & Resident CareProvide orientation and guidance to newly hired food services with residents staff and guests with compassion active listening respect and flexibility in daily routines to accommodate resident needs and support an environment that nurtures in staff education training programs and safety initiatives in alignment with organization & CertificationsBC Candidates: Valid Food Safe 1 Certificate (issued post-July 29 2013) or recognized Candidates: Valid Alberta Food Safety Certificate or recognized Experience2 to 3 years of experience in institutional experience working with elderly populations or in senior care & Core CompetenciesStrong verbal and written English communication computer literacy including proficiency with email and internet interpersonal active listening and conflict-resolution level of dependability punctuality and time to confidentiality safety regulations and infection control standards.
