Job Summary

- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver on the strategic and operational goals of the Controller
- Prepare general ledger entries; collect and analyze data from general ledger and sub-ledgers to create reports in MS Excel; maintain supporting documentation including knowledge of accruals deferrals and fixed assets
- Manage trial balance accounts by verifying allocating posting and reconciling transactions
- Lead various audits (year-end and government fiscal audits)
- Lead month-end & year-end closing processes
- Monthly GST / QST / HST sales tax remittance
- Bank reconciliations
- Inventory control and analysis
- Manage and maintain compliance with various Provincial and Federal government agencies (MRQ CRA CSST WSIB WCB etc.)
- Approve supplier backup documents for cash disbursements
- Operationally manage AR and AP tasks (mainly cash management ensure correct coding of transactions)
- Develop and improve accounting procedures
- Research and analyze financial data to deliver accurate and well-informed answers to accounting and financial inquiries
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations (knowledge of Nethris is a plus)
- Calculate & process commissions for sales team members and Dealers
- Contribute to and support various ad-hoc projects
- The Corporation may from time to time assign additional duties and responsibilities consistent with the position
