CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

Summary:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager leads high-impact cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business results across the business and support areas. This role drives the development of large-scale transformation projects that enhance operational efficiency and financial performance. This position will work across all departments to identify prioritize and develop initiatives aligned to strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborates to develop short but mostly long-term strategies to reduce waste and increase efficiencies across Grifols Canada.
  • Develop implementation plans governance models and sustainment strategies for initiatives exceeding departmental scope or financial thresholds.
  • Create Process and Value Stream Maps to identify losses in efficiency and aids in implementing solutions to improve.
  • Partner with Operations and Controlling to build data-driven business cases calculate ROI and track realized benefits.
  • Work with key stakeholders to drive process improvements that quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs quality production and service.
  • Drive adoption of new technologies automation and process redesign that will modernize or simplify donor center operations.
  • Collaborate with Project Management on change management and full rollout plans.
  • Assess challenges metrics effectiveness of donor centers operational processes for improvement in business objectives. This will include analysis of areas such as labor marketing customer service compliance training and internal systems.
  • Acts as an internal consultant to help validate or facilitate proper assessment of potential ideas or practices.
  • Develop and implement solutions for complex processes projects and business requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Train and educate the organization. Implement continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to 5S Methodologies Lean 6 Sigma Principles OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and others.
  • Work with High Performing Center and Field Leadership in identifying CI opportunities within the center network business unit.
  • Partner with Operations for identifying developing implementing and monitoring KPIs for CI Initiatives.
  • Harmonize datasets from multiple sources to determine business and operational trends and ultimately drive action.
  • Drive a business intelligence roadmap; prioritize analysis requests to balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business
  • Utilize Power BI including visualization parameters report optimization creating measures modeling reports/dashboards and dataflows.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in business Engineering or Manufacturing required.
  • Prior training and certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt in root cause investigations is required. Other certifications in Project Management Total Quality Management (TQM) Theory of Constraints is a plus.
  • Experience: Requires a minimum of 8 -10 years of successful continuous process improvement experience and knowledge in project management statistical analysis Lean Six Sigma principles and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Proven track record leading enterprise level CI initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Experience working in a regulated or high-volume service environments preferred (healthcare manufacturing or life sciences).
  • Previous experience translating strong technical information into a digestible format for all organizational levels
  • Must understand the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Plasma collection background preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and ability to implement effective improvement strategies and solutions through data driven decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills ability to handle diverse situations and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to influence upward across and down without formal authority.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and solution focused problem-solving skills (Creativity before Capital)
