The Team
You will be joining a small close-knit Admin Team of three who serves as the face of the University Endowment Lands (UEL) Administration Office. As the first point of contact with the public the team plays an important role in creating positive and professional experience for residents visitors and community members. The team members support one another and share responsibilities to ensure the office operates smoothly and to manage the varied day-to-day demands of a busy municipal environment. The team also provides essential administrative support to the Public Works and Development Services teams giving you the opportunity to work with a variety of people projects and municipal functions.

The Role
The Municipal Clerk plays an important role in the team by coordinating and organizing a wide range of corporate and administrative services. Working closely with team members the Municipal Clerk helps keep information flowing ensure priorities are well coordinated and support the team in providing consistent and responsive service to the public. The Municipal Clerk also acts as the main liaison between UEL Administration and the community advisory groups helping facilitate communication on community development and land-use matters.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Office/corporate administration experience including:

    • Six (6) months experiencemanaging processes and procedures agenda setting and reporting on proceedings of local elected councils/committees/Boards of Directors.

    • Six (6) months experience advising elected representatives about meeting procedures (e.g. Roberts Rules of Order).

    • Six (6) months experience working with and advising local elected council/committees of council/Boards of Directors on practices and procedures.

    • Six (6) months confidential corporate administration experience.

    • Six (6) months customer service experience in a public setting including telephone and in-person.

    • Six (6) months experiencein Accounts Payable.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Three (3) or more years of office/corporate administration experience.

  • Completion of a Government Financial Management Certificate program or equivalent.
