Job Summary
- Job Title: Clerk 2 (ADM03)
- Client: Government of Nova Scotia Department of Labour Skills and Immigration
- Location: Halifax Nova Scotia Canada
- Work Schedule: 5 Days per Week
- Hours per Day: 7 Hours
- Perform high-volume and accurate data entry into the Agency Management System (AMS)
- Review verify and update client information and records
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the department
- Prepare organize and file correspondence and documentation
- Assist with maintaining office records and filing systems
- Prepare expense claims and administrative forms as required
- Maintain office supply inventory and petty cash records
- Distribute inter-office mail and documents
- Respond to inquiries via telephone email and in-person interactions
- Follow established policies procedures acts rules and regulations
- Exercise judgment in selecting the most appropriate work methods for assigned tasks
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
- Grade XI education
- Minimum two (2) years of related administrative or clerical experience
- Equivalent combinations of education training and experience may also be considered
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Strong understanding of office administrative procedures
- Previous experience working within a government or public-sector environment
- Experience with database systems records management or data migration projects
- Administrative support experience in a fast-paced office setting
- Onsite role located in Halifax Nova Scotia
- Full-time contract assignment
- Temporary assignment supporting AMS system transition activities
