Job Summary

Location:Boardwalk Retirement Community (NW Calgary)Responsibilities:Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our ResidentsPresent the menu take written orders and communicate special requests to the culinary team Serve meals and beverages to Residents in a courteous and professional manner to their satisfaction and comfortSet and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as requiredAssist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery as requiredAssist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme eventsAssist in the orientation and training of new culinary employeesAssist the culinary team in preparing portioning and serving simple items (i.e. beverages soups salads desserts)Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas including deep cleaning when requiredAssist with housekeeping including light dusting vacuuming mopping changing linens and making beds as neededFollow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental proceduresComply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and proceduresBe aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote itAttend in-service training as required in to better serve the needs of the ResidentsAttend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the workplaceUphold and promote the organizations values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics and integrity as set out in the Companys Code of Conduct and HandbookComplete all other tasks as assignedExperience and Educational Requirements:2 years of serving experiencePreference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors High School DiplomaCertification of mandatory training in public health and sanitation (Food Handling Permit)Technical Requirements:Operating in an efficient manner while maintaining safety practicesWorking knowledge of English both verbal and writtenNon-Technical Requirements:Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy hot items and stand/walk for majority of shiftMust be comfortable using PPE around commercial grade chemicals and sanitization productsAvailability to work various shifts (evenings weekends and holidays)Posting for
