Job Summary
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the GoA Data Strategy by designing and developing analytical data products dashboards reports data models and actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Design develop and optimize advanced Power BI solutions
- Analyze large and complex datasets for trends predictive analytics and forecasting
- Develop dashboards reports KPIs visualizations and analytical models
- Perform data analysis data quality audits statistical analysis and data mining
- Develop and maintain data models and data products
- Combine and integrate data from multiple sources and domains
- Gather document and translate business requirements into analytical solutions
- Develop complex DAX measures calculated columns and time intelligence
- Use SQL for data transformation querying and analytical processing
- Prepare and present data-driven insights to executives and business users
- Create effective data storytelling and presentations
- Capture business and technical metadata
- Support strategic decision-making and business planning
- Work with internal/external clients and explain complex data concepts
- Identify and escalate issues and risks
- Work effectively in a multi-vendor/multi-staff environment
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalencies considered
- 5 years designing developing and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions
- 5 years using Power BI visualization techniques and data storytelling
- 5 years analyzing large complex datasets using Power BI/Azure analytics tools
- 5 years presenting data-driven insights to executives/business users in a government environment
- 5 years gathering and developing requirements for analytical projects
- 5 years translating business requirements into end-to-end BI solutions
- 5 years integrating raw data from multiple sources/domains
- 5 years client-facing data consulting/communication
- 5 years advanced DAX development
- 3 years SQL for data transformation querying and analytics
- 5 years developing dashboards visualizations and analytical models
- 3 years working with large government datasets
Required Skills:

Required Education:
