About the Role:
Our client is a rapidly growing CleanTech organization focused on optimizing HVAC systems in buildings to reduce energy consumption operating costs and carbon emissions.
They are looking for a Building Intelligence Engineer to join their Toronto team and play a key role in on-site installation commissioning and deployment of building automation and HVAC systems across the GTA.
This is a hands-on client-facing role ideal for someone with strong technical experience who enjoys working in the field and engaging directly with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site assessments of buildings to support project scoping and implementation
Install and commission HVAC / building automation systems to ensure proper functionality and data flow
Coordinate with subcontractors including electricians and controls vendors
Act as the on-site representative working closely with clients and building operators
Support documentation including schematics scopes and system requirements
Troubleshoot and optimize system performance post-installation
Collaborate with internal teams to transition projects into ongoing support
Requirements:
5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Controls
Strong experience with installation and commissioning of systems (not just design)
Experience working on-site in a field-based or technician role
Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities
Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
Ability to travel to sites across the GTA (23 days per week as needed)
Nice to Have:
Experience with Niagara (Tridium) or similar BAS platforms
Controls commissioning experience
Background in Energy Engineering MEP or Building Automation
Exposure to utility incentive programs
