Job Summary

The Associate Principal is responsible for managing their respective Project Design Team. They are fully responsible and accountable for their design team staff regularly review staffing and distribute tasks effectively and consistently with staff skillsets. By providing technical support and management resources the Associate Principal ensures that design decision-making and team management accountability take place.

The Calgary Electrical team is looking for a keen individual to continue the growth and lead the execution of healthcare projects. The projects range in scale and complexity from smaller Functional Programming and Business Case scopes to major renovations and additions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in all aspects of electrical engineering including equipmentselectionand specifications system design layout calculations and field reviews.

  • Lead the design engineering and delivery of projects involving electrical systems for new installations retrofits replacements and upgradesof healthcare projects

  • Serve as the discipline lead on projectsoperatingwith a high degree of autonomy and technicalexpertise.

  • Lead and develop the Electrical Team including mentorship supervision training and performance development.

  • Manage team operations including workload planning resourceutilization and forecasting.

  • Build andmaintainstrong client relationships act as thefirmrepresentative and manage key clients stakeholders and pursuits.

  • Lead business development efforts including proposal preparation fee development and contributing to GO/NO-GO decisions.

  • Monitor team and project performance to support achievement of annual business and financial targets.

  • Ensure quality management practices are implemented and continuously improved with quality control embedded across all project deliverables.

  • Represent the firm in meetings presentations and industry engagementsdemonstratingstrong communicationskills.

  • Work across a diverse range ofhealthcareproject types.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10yearsdesign experience infacility design and construction

  • Experience leading and designingdiversehealthcarebuildingsprojects

  • Has led a teamor mentored junior/intermediate staff members

  • Experience responding to RFPs and writing Business Cases

  • University degree college/technology diploma inElectricalEngineering

  • Professional Engineer (PEng)

  • LEED Accredited professional designation or other relevant rating or performance system is desired
