Responsibilities

Plant Operations

• Operate and monitor asphalt plant equipment to ensure safe efficient and continuous production.
• Produce asphalt in accordance with approved mix designs production schedules and quality specifications.
• Perform plant start-up shutdown and daily operational inspections.
• Monitor plant controls and adjust production processes to maintain efficiency and product quality.
• Coordinate asphalt production to meet operational and customer demands.
• Monitor raw material inventories and coordinate replenishment as required.

Maintenance & Quality Control

• Troubleshoot operational issues and perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and report equipment deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate production records maintenance logs and equipment documentation.
• Work closely with Quality Control personnel to ensure asphalt products meet required specifications.
• Assist in maintaining plant equipment and facilities to maximize operational reliability.

Safety & Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with Dispatch truck drivers paving crews maintenance personnel and management to support daily operations.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company health and safety policies environmental requirements and applicable legislation.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe plant environment.
• Identify and report potential hazards equipment concerns and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Participate in safety meetings inspections and ongoing training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating an asphalt plant or a similar industrial processing facility.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of asphalt production processes and quality control procedures.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and plant equipment operation is considered an asset.
• Heavy equipment operating experience is considered an asset.
• Valid Ontario Class G drivers licence.
