Application Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Engineer to join our Engineering this role you will provide technical support for product development and manufacturing processes ensuring product designs meet customer requirements quality standards and performance expectations.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development Manufacturing Quality and Program Management to support new product launches continuous improvement initiatives and product optimization efforts.

Base Salary: $80-$100

Provide Application Engineering support for new program launches.

Lead product research and development projects and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership.

Review and assess product designs for feasibility manufacturability and compliance with engineering best practices.

Participate in critical design reviews and support the resolution of product design issues.

Review and validate engineering documentation including:

Component and assembly drawings

GD&T callouts and tolerance stack-up analyses

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

DVP&R documentation and customer specifications

FMEAs and Control Plans

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives.

Support warranty reduction and product quality improvement activities.

Identify evaluate and implement product cost-reduction opportunities.

Assist Quality and Manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean manufacturing principles.

Maintain workplace organization and 5S standards.

Ensure compliance with all health safety environmental and quality management requirements.

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience in automotive product development including mechanisms and/or structures.

Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Professional Engineer (.) designation.

Red X Six Sigma or other continuous improvement training.

Strong understanding of:

APQP

FMEA

DVP&R

GD&T

PPAP

Other automotive core quality tools

Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping molding assembly and welding.

Automotive manufacturing experience.

Strong presentation and project management skills.

Valid passport and willingness to travel to customer and supplier locations as required.
