Experience:Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management preferably in the agro-industrial FMCG or industrial manufacturing sectors
MISSION
The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to secure a reliable supply of all raw materials consumables equipment and services required for industrial operations. The Procurement Manager will play a key role in building and managing a resilient supply chain navigating the complexities of international trade and optimizing procurement costs while ensuring quality and compliance.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
Strategic Sourcing and Raw Material Procurement
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of crude palm oil (CPO) while managing the procurement of other critical production inputs
- Identify evaluate and establish partnerships with industrial producers and smallholder plantation networks to secure CPO supplies
- Monitor market trends prices and raw material availability to anticipate procurement risks and opportunities
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain optimal terms regarding price quality delivery lead times and payment conditions
Supplier Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers including industrial producers smallholder plantation owners and international partners
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with quality safety and sustainability standards
- Manage the qualification and approval process for new suppliers
- Collaborate with production teams to align procurement with production schedules and quality requirements
Import and Customs Clearance Operations
- Manage the complete import process for crude palm oil and other raw materials including international freight customs clearance and port handling while ensuring full compliance with CEMAC and Cameroonian customs regulations
- Negotiate international contracts and manage relationships with foreign suppliers including Incoterms payment terms shipping documentation and delivery schedules
- Monitor international market trends currency fluctuations and government quota policies to anticipate supply risks and optimize import costs
Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate the logistics of receiving raw materials including transportation storage and inventory management
- Ensure effective inventory management to maintain production continuity while minimizing holding costs
- Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs taking into account the challenges associated with sourcing from dispersed smallholder plantations
Cost Management and Budgeting
- Develop and manage the procurement budget ensuring cost optimization while maintaining quality standards
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives and value engineering projects
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities savings achieved and supplier performance
- Monitor compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Compliance and Sustainability
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with Cameroonian laws and regulations including the Investment Code and applicable tax/customs provisions
- Support the company's commitment to sustainable procurement practices including traceability and certification where applicable
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit purposes
Team Management
- Supervise train and develop the procurement team
- Foster a culture of performance integrity and continuous improvement
REQUIRED PROFILE
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management Procurement Business Administration Logistics or a related field
- A professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (CIPS CPSM) is an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management preferably in the agro-industrial FMCG or industrial manufacturing sectors
- Proven experience in sourcing agricultural products particularly crude palm oil or related products
- Experience negotiating large-scale procurement contracts and managing supplier relationships
- Experience managing procurement in a context of supply shortages or market volatility is highly desirable
- Experience in import/export operations customs procedures and international trade regulations is essential
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficiency in procurement software ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of logistics inventory management and supply chain optimization
- Knowledge of customs procedures tariffs Incoterms and trade compliance

- French – Fluent
